New Bike

Hi fellas,

It's been a while.

I'm sorry.

Like you said, maybe it's blog fatigue.

I'm happy to be back again.

Thanks for coming back all these while.

Guess what?

I'm planning to change my bike.

Hopefully within a month's time. I have already decided on which bike I want. I'm just waiting for the stock to be available.

Want to guess what bike I'm changing to? :)

Give it a try. I will definitely write a review of my new bike.

I do hope that your new ride is gonna be either BMW F 800 GS or the bigger cousin the R 1200 GS Adventure.

what are you going to do with the ST?

I guess its BMW RS1200 GS??? its a nice bike though... my dream bike..

It will definitely a less heavy bike than the STX. GS800 overrated better go for the GS1200. STX is one of those love-at-sight bike..but after owning it for a short while most will let it go sooner or later..you will feel clumsy if you can't handle its weight...

hmm...

something lighter n smaller for urban commuting.

something dat has storage or as an option.

something dat has enuf power n comfort for touring, yet is fuel efficient.

kawasaki er6f? small n fast bike barely larger than a super4.

yamaha tdm900? skinny bike (for its class), looks great as a tourer wif side panniers installed.

honda cbf1000? low end torque monster. a bit thirsty though.

gilera gp800? 0 to 100kph in 5 odd secs fully automatic wif weather protection of a scooter.

ugh, i can' tell. we'll c.

i m looking at the new CB1000R... or fz1 again.. but the new model..

wah cb1000r is a nice bike! but fitting any sort of luggage is gonna kill its looks...

fz1... try to do some research, i've read n experienced water ingress of the fuel tank. mechanic suggested using a car static windshield sticker! for the road, the old fz1 is better. u can easily find comparison tests on the net.

Versys of BMW?

Yikes. Before I create a riot.
I meant, Versys OR BMW.

Personally I prefer the 2009 CBR1000RR over the "as-common-as-taxi" FZ1. Hope to see you in the track soon!

I've just realised that I CB1000R and CBR1000RR are 2 different bikes. Now I understand why you are considering between the two street bikes.

I must admit that the CB1000R is the more good looking bike. And if you get this bike, please don't install box. It would kill the looks.

Wah say!

All very good suggestions!
I must say quite a number of the bike models mentioned here do cross my mind as candidates...but in the end, I can only choose one...

I will be collecting my bike on 17 Jan. Looking forward to my new toy. Yipee!!!

Ha ha ha. Wah, Faboy Joe, thanks for keeping timing :)

I just gotten my new bike on 17th Jan, last Saturday niah.

It's brand new (FBD3025P) so got to go through the usual run-in period. So I have only rode for a few days and I can't trash the bike yet. If I write a review now, I think the review is very incomplete and not fair to readers.

Give me a few more days to hit my 1,000km mark and I will write a review within Jan ok? :)

I think I'm starting to sound like a nagging old lady but it is the 2nd of February 2009 liao. And still no updates of what is the new bike.
